The Top Rural Hospital Award comes following the hospital’s recent “A” Hospital Safety Grade, also from the Leapfrog Group.
“PRMC has received the coveted Leapfrog A safety grade multiple times now, but this year we have again achieved recognition as a Leapfrog Top Hospital in the nation, where only 118 hospitals earned this recognition but PRMC is one of 17 facilities in the Rural Hospital category. Performance across many areas of hospital care is considered in establishing the qualifications for the award, including infection rates, maternity care, and the hospital’s capacity to prevent medication errors. The rigorous standards are defined in each year’s Top Hospital Methodology.

To qualify for the Top Hospitals distinction, hospitals must submit a Leapfrog Hospital Survey and achieve highest performance in its category.
