The Behavioral Health Unit provides both voluntary and involuntary admissions with focus on adults ages 18 and up with conditions such as acute depression, suicidal tendencies, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, bipolar disorder, psychosis and schizophrenia.
Our highly-skilled, board-certified physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers and staff are dedicated to helping our patients find hope and improve the health of their mind, body and spirit.
In addition to our comprehensive inpatient services, we provide outpatient services with wide-ranging mental health programs including:
- Thorough assessment by psychiatrist, medical staff and social work staff
- Outpatient services to allow the individual to remain to work or with family
- Inpatient hospitalization program
- Case management services
- Psychiatrist meetings
- Individual plan of care
Behavioral Health Clinic
The PRMC Behavioral Health Clinic operates three mornings a week for two to eight weeks depending on individual’s needs. Small group sessions are located in a comfortable and relaxed setting provided with intensive treatment among a therapeutic community of peers.
Patients are taught skills to promote:
- Positive thinking
- Self-empowerment
- Assertiveness in dealing with issues
- Communication skills
Treatment is covered by Medicare and most insurances.
